We are proud to announce the initial release of Gmail Studio.

Gmail Studio brings Gmail Studio to your desktop with minimal interference to your workspace. Gmail Studio sits in your status bar at the top of your screen, and can notify you when you have new mail from multiple Gmail and Google Apps Gmail accounts. You can monitor each account with different time intervals and different Gmail tags. Gmail Studio also supports Growl notifications to notify you when you have new mail.

Twitter Studio is a free desktop twitter client for the Mac desktop. It supports features such as: user profile, replies, direct messages, favorites, and more. We are currently working on a new version of the application now.

It has been really busy at work these last few weeks, so that accounts for the lack of releases with Twitter Studio. We are excited about the upcoming releases here, bare with us.

We have released Twitter Studio v1.1.0.2 this evening, addressing the following bug fixes.

Fixed application name in menus
Fixed crash when opening about window for second time
More efficient image caching

This release fixes a few bugs and adds a couple enhancements to the application.

Bug Fixes:

Removed focus rings around all tables
Bug fix with closing to dock and relaunching
Increased font size for tweet input
Closing shortening URL window when cancelling or getting an error
Spell check on tweet input
No more new tweets when running for a long period of time
Mark tweet as read if posted by current user

The Immediate Future of Twitter Studio

The release v1.1.0.0 of Twitter Studio appears to be going over very well with the community, and we are excited about the future. Here at BlueCrestStudios we try to keep a very open and honest line of communication with our users, because ultimately you all are the ones that we are writing this code for. You can use our forums, Twitter, RSS feed, and comments here to: keep in touch, get a hold of us, request features, report bugs, or just to give a shout out.

I wanted to give a window into what is on our immediate list of things we are working on. We are unofficially aiming for a release a week, of course that does not mean new major features every week. On our list right now is the current topics:

Short Term (this week or so):

Tweet input character count
Tweet input, larger font for more legibility
Tweet input, spell check
Bug fix when closing the application, no allowing it to relaunch from dock
Better ability to see what tab you are on

Long Term (this month):

Searching with live updating
Groups with live updating

The long term goals have some trickiness involved with them, because we want to accomplish this in a way that does not take away from your API usage.

So that’s all for now, thanks for the great feedback. Keep it coming, we are aiming to take over the Twitter community with this client.

We have confirmed that Twitter Studio is currently being listed on Twitter for all tweets sent with it. We are excited about the exposure that this will bring to the application.

Twitter Studio v1.1.0.0 Released

We are very happy to announce the release of Twitter Studio v1.1.0.0. We have made some significant changes to the interface as well as added support for Twitpic and four URL shortening services including: TinyURL, is.gd, Metamark, and tr.im. We are working hard on getting the much requested group feature, and will hopefully have that released here soon. Below is a list of changes to the application for this release.

Added Features:

API name listing with Twitter
New interface, better layout, and consolidation of controls
Added support for Twitpic
Added support for shortening URL services including: TinyURL, is.gd, Metamark, and tr.im
Enhancements to preferences by adding toolbar

Twitter Studio v1.0.0.5 Released – Find The Easter Egg

Twitter Studio v1.0.0.5 was released today. This was a minor release that fixes a bug with the user lookup dialog crashing on second use.

There also has been several reports of an easter egg inside of Twitter Studio, and we can confirm that there is indeed an easter egg inside the application. The rest is up to you.

Twitter Studio v1.0.0.3 Released

Please excuse the dust as we continue to work through some issues we have had in overhauling and relaunching our website. We released v1.0.0.3 of Twitter Studio this morning, which fixes several issues around our tweet parsing code. This was an oversight that happened last night while we were working on our web servers.

Over the next week we will be working hard to nail down the bugs that will come up from the load of users using Twitter Studio. Please use our forums to submit any bugs or feedback. We care greatly about the quality of our software, and are working hard to make it stable quickly.

A New Road

There comes a time in every persons life where they make drastic changes, this is the same for a company. That time for BlueCrestStudios is now. For over the last ten years we have developed software for the Windows Desktop, and we have done very well for a privately help software company. But now we are embarking on a new road, a new path, a new journey. We are now exclusively developing for the Macintosh platform. And to give back part of the success we have had over the years, initially all of our software will be free.
